I started a new concept of a vehicle I sketched a while back. Almost done with the blockout.

Bot WIP

My robot concept is finished. Below is a stages page that shows some process. The initial idea was heavily influenced by Jparked [ http://www.jparked.blogspot.com/ ]. Check out his stuff, really amazing. He did a series of robot concepts that incorporated some pasted images. I imagine he did this for speed. Concepts are not illustrations, most are for the purpose of visually showing an idea. And, most need to be done quickly for production. With this in mind, I wanted to try it out. Indeed it is fast! I started out with a page of thumbs from which I chose one to take further. After that I did a quick 30 minute block out in 3dsMax and threw on a quick rig so I could try out some different poses. Then I did a direct shadow and ambient render. And the rest you can see in the images. About 24 total hours for this concept.
